Talcum Powder Lawsuit – Link Between Talc & Ovarian Cancer

J&J has already been asked to pay millions of dollars in compensation for ovarian cancer, but many cases are still pending.

Several major verdicts were recently issued against Johnson & Johnson for its talcum powder products.  These lawsuits were filed by women who developed ovarian cancer after regular use of J & J products that contains talc.

Various studies have shown a link between the use of talc near the genitals and the development of ovarian cancer.

Thousands of women who develop ovarian cancer after the regular use of J & J products filed lawsuits claiming that the company must warn about the increased risk of cancer by the regular use of talcum powder on or near the genitals.

The first evidence of a link between the use of talc and ovarian cancer appeared in 1971 in a study published in a journal that showed that 75% of ovarian cancer tumors removed in 13 women that contained talc particles.  

Since then, more than 40 articles were reviewed and reports were published in various medical newsletters about the link between talcum powder and ovarian cancer.
