Things To Know Before You Go To Barbados

Before you go to Barbados here are some facts to help and things you should know so that when you arrive on the island you know what to expect.

Barbados has one airport – Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI). The airport is in the south of the island and 16kms from Bridgetown, the capital. There is only one terminal at the airport. One can check this out to know about luxury holiday villas to rent in Barbados.

LANDING CARD

On the plane, you will be given / Customs Immigration Forms to complete. The forms must be completed before entering the Arrivals Hall. Visitors are required to register the address where they will stay while in Barbados.

AIRPORT MEET & GREET

The service includes personally escorted through immigration, baggage claims immediate help with, and proceed through Customs into the air taxi waiting.

TRANSPORT

Unless you have made prior arrangements for a private taxi when out of the Arrivals Hall there is a table immediately to the left of where the operator cab will take you to the next available taxi.

CAR RENTAL

There are many car rental companies on the island but only a select few meet international standards. Courtesy Rent-a-Car, one of Barbados' oldest and most famous car rental companies, and Drive-a-Matic both have a stall on the left as soon as you come out of the Arrivals Hall. Another company with no prior booking will welcome you usually with a hand holding a sign outside the Arrivals Hall.
